In more ways than one, so to speak! Game 1: The Illusive Visa. It's a challenging game that requires patience, perseverance and a strong sense of humor. The goal is to make it to all the government offices, through varying modes of transportation while not losing one's temper nor purpose. The winner is the one who, in the end, receives the "illusive visa" while maintaining his vision... Common roadblocks in this game are language difficulties, cultural anomalies, heat exhaustion, lack of water/energy and discripencies over game rules- they can change at any time! Unfortunately, there are no "wild" or "get out of jail free" cards in this game.... Good luck!
Game 2: Balancing Date Cake. A fun game for any gathering or meeting! Pack a large mixing bowl with flour and invert on a tray. Carefully lift the bowl off the flour/tray, leaving the flour on the tray in the form of the bowl, or "cake" shape. Place one dried date in the middle of the cake. (You can us any candy, if dates are not available.) The object of the game is for each player to cut away a piece of the cake without making the date fall. If the date falls during your cut, you must use your mouth to extract the date from where it fell. Have fun! (played during last weeks Family meeting)
Tomorrow we will find out if we received the work permit. There are really only 3 things that can happen at this point: 1. We get the visa and can stay. 2. We don't and we renew our tourist visa as long as we can- 2 more months, maybe. 3. We are forced to leave. Either way, we know that we have been called here and will do all that we can to stay and fulfill that which we were sent to do!
